Sodium
Diets - Helpful Information

Active ImageNearly everything we consume contains sodium. Many people are surprised when they learn that most natural foods contain some sodium. Even most fresh fruits and vegetables contain sodium. What this means is that most of us are getting much more than we need.

Our body needs Sodium in small quantities, however consuming too much sodium will raise blood pressure which counts for a huge risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Therefore, it is important that you cut back on sodium which will lower the risk of high blood pressure and other heart diseases.

Processed foods and condiments are loaded with sodium. The food manufacturers learned a long time ago that people would flock to buy items with heavy sodium content. There's something about that salty taste that is slightly addictive. If you currently add salt to your food, STOP. Also, start analyzing every food's nutritional label for the sodium content. The amount of sodium can vary depending on which brand you buy.

Overall, be careful what you consume and especially how much sodium you consume. We at Easy Diet Research can recommend low Sodium diet programs from eDiets.
