To illustrate the dramatic difference in the three categories of milk, imagine an 8-ounce glass of nonfat milk. To turn this nonfat milk into 2 percent low fat milk, add one part or one teaspoon of melted butter and stir until is is completely dissolved. To turn the low fat milk you just made into whole milk, add still another part or teaspoon of butter. Remember, the next time you want a glass of whole milk; you are actually reaching for a glass of nonfat milk and two pats of butter.
